Manusher Jonno Foundation (an organization supporting human rights and governance initiatives) invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the following position, based in Dhaka
Position: Manager - MIS
Develop and update systems that are to be used by the PNGOs, MJF staffs e.g Program, Finance, M&E and the Senior Management of the organization
Coordinate overall MIS activities
Manage and supervise MIS & IT team
Look after the maintenance of the computer systems and make sure that all the departments/units are functioning properly
Perform system diagnosis, repair and updates to ensure data integrity; and reliability of automated tasks
Periodic necessary specifications for each department and make sure that their requirements are met
Look after the purchase of the software and hardware as systems required and plan proper budget and quotations for the systems
Provide training and necessary assistance for the supervisee involved in implementation and maintenance of the software and hardware systems
Train project staffs in using information systems/online reporting system and help them understand the configuration of the systems
Specific Duties & Responsibility:
Develop and Manage management information system for MJF’s monitoring and evaluation data related functions to enable efficient access to routine project/ programme data to strengthen planning and programme development
In collaboration with M&E unit and Program team. Develop and maintain accurate database contents, including completing regular quality checks on database assuring accurate information, overseeing and maintenance of data onto systems, creating and running data integrity checks and undertake appropriate follow up action
Trouble shoot of online reporting and mobile technologies related problem
Supervise overall IT technologies to develop and strengthen use-friendly system to Monitoring and evaluation data entry, error check and generate data output table
Advise MJF on opportunities to introduce technology innovations to enhance programme effectiveness and efficiencies
Contribute to the development and updating of the internet based shared learning resource
Develop and update website and its content
Education, Experience & Skills Requirements
Minimum Graduate in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Statistics.
Minimum 12 years working experience to manage Management Information Systems in a development organization, national or international NGO
Experience in Web Based Management Info prototype for MIS, installation of all the required hardware and deployment of the application software required to the application server etc.
Experience in Core PHP 4.x & 5.x, MySQL 4.x & 5.x, Java Script, AJAX, JQuery, CSS is mandatory.
Experience in Microsoft technologies i.e. ASP.Net, C#.Net, Crystal reports for .Net, VBA/VSTO is required.
Experience in Win2008 server for administration and implementation and also Linux server maintenance.
Experience in OOP, RDBMS, OOAD, component/plug-ins development, various types of design pattern is required.
Manage MySQL Server database job scheduling, back up, restoration, and data management.
IT/ Electronic device troubleshooting (Mandatory to handle DELL Brand PC, Preferable to Handle NEC brand PC)
Extensive experience in network troubleshooting to ensure end-user support
Sufficient experience in computer networking by using CAT-6 with faceplate and modular
Operating system: Windows 7 & 8.
Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 and advance internet knowledge for troubleshooting
Good knowledge on windows 2008/2012 and Linux server installation and configuration
Workgroup/Domain networking knowledge, Active directory management knowledge
Experience in Switch connectivity and patch panel.
General computer & network trouble-shooting with existing system
Router, Firewall and storage system/media configuration & maintenance
Knowledge with WiFi networking treated as an extra qualification
Run back up as per schedule and recovery operation in case such action is required.
Installation, maintaining and administration of Application Server, Database Server, Web Server, Mail Server etc. (Windows and Linux).
Good knowledge of IT Assets and Hardware management
Experience in using standard computer software, especially MS Office programmes, as well as data entry/statistical packages, such as MS Access, STATA or equivalent
Capacity to build the skills of development partners
Ability to write clearly and concisely and to translate complex concepts into non-technical language.
Good communication skills, including fluency in oral and written English.
Confident presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to manage information system of multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines under pressure.
Understand development Program particularly on rights based approach and its program
