WildTeam WildTeam is a conservation organisation working to save endangered wildlife and their habitats, with a current focus on tigers in the Bangladesh Sundarbans. WildTeam is a registered as a Bangladesh non-profit organisation. WildTeam has been chosen as the lead partner for USAID’s Bengal Tiger Conservation Activity, which aims to conserve Bangladesh’s rich biodiversity through a focus on the protection of charismatic wildlife, specifically the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Job Description WildTeam is looking to recruit a Patrolling Coordinator for its Bagh Activity funded by USAID to oversee patrolling activities and support patrolling operations of WildTeam’s Anti Trafficking Action work stream. The post holder will be overall responsible for the following responsibilities –
Supervise daily patrolling operations.
Liaison with stakeholders related with patrolling activities.
Develop and review forest patrolling strategies.
Form and mobilize community patrolling teams.
Develop patrolling capacity development plan.
Supervise in patrolling logistic maintenance activities.
Maintain cross team communication.
Effectively utilize and manage patrolling workplan, budget and staffs; and provide reports accordingly.
Support Patrolling Specialist in conducting regular patrolling operations.
Organize trainings session, seminar and workshop on patrolling related issues.
Solve field problems with minimum input from supervisor.
Reports to Law Enforcement Specialist on patrolling operations.
Assists Law Enforcement Specialist for completing patrolling monthly accountings and budgets.
Preferred attitude, skills, and experience The most important quality WildTeam is looking for in all its employees is a great attitude and “one team” approach; someone who is highly motivated to save wildlife, takes responsibility for their work, can solve complex problems, has a fearless attitude/is ready for a challenge, and enjoys working with/supporting others in sometimes challenging living/political conditions.
The applicant should have at least 6/8 years experience of working with law enforcement agencies. Having experience with project management position and mobilizing patrolling groups will be beneficial. In addition, for this position WildTeam is looking for the following: a bachelor degree from any relevant discipline, a people person, high proficiency in written and spoken English, analytical skills and attention to detail, and someone who is comfortable with technology.
