Oxfam is looking for a dynamic team player to work with Oxfam in Bangladesh. He /she will be reportable to Program Director. The contract duration is two years initially (Only Bangladeshi national are eligible to apply). Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh Job purpose: To provide management to Oxfam in Bangladesh’s gender programmes and leadership to the Oxfam in Bangladesh programme by ensuring gender is at the centre of all programmes and projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and manage the design, development and implementation of all programs and projects under management.
Provide thematic expertise to all Oxfam in Bangladesh programs and projects (development and humanitarian)
Promote gender equality and women’s leadership in all programs and projects (development and humanitarian).
Provide thematic expertise to different project teams, partners and networks.
Support partners to develop project proposals along with budget and clear Monitoring, Review and Evaluation frameworks.
Manage the current donors and support the Funding and Quality Director to mobilise new donors for the existing projects and new project.
Ensure Oxfam in Bangladesh is working with relevant affiliates and research bodies to conduct action research on programs and projects under management.
Develop regular and specialized reports for the donors, media and organisation in a regular manner also feed the reports in different web-site and digital social networks.
Maintain links with regional bodies and take responsibility to organise regional events as per regional plans.
Participate in and support national and regional campaign working groups.
Engage in developing and disseminating learning from different programmes and project and utilise the learning in different ways at both a national and regional level.
Actively participate in the development and maintenance organisational networks on EVAW/Gender Equality.
Represent Oxfam at internal and external forums/ networks; establishing and maintaining contact with range of organizations and individuals.

The ability to adapt to different cultures. Experience of working in Asian cultures desirable.
Must demonstrate commitment and sensitivity to gender issues.

Skills and Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of specific areas of work with post graduate qualification in the related field of study.
At least 5 years working experience on gender related programme at national and international NGOs or relevant organisations.
Experience on program, project and Partnership Management along with managing gender related projects.
Strong ability and proven track record on program design, monitoring and evaluation
Demonstrates ability to identify and implement opportunities for innovation.
Demonstrable people and budget management skills.
Experience in providing advisory support to both senior managers and programme staff and good ability to facilitate learning and knowledge management.
Clear knowledge and understanding about the national and international process of women’s movement, protocols, instruments which preserving and protecting women rights and entitlements.
Proven ability to develop and manage institutional relationships and policy advocacy works at national and local level.
Minimum understanding about LGBTI communities.
Good communication, facilitation and representation skills.
Strong understanding of gender and HIV/AIDs issues and experience in integrating these into programme practice.
Understanding of advocacy, campaigning and communications and how they contribute to achieving programme goals.
Plans activities in advance, establishes clear priorities and regularly reviews them.
Works to ensure that targets are met, reviews and amends resource allocation in respect of targets and seeks better ways of doing things.
Demonstrates perseverance and determination in achieving results.
Willingness to take initiative, make decisions based on sound analysis and ensures these decisions are communicated to relevant parties.
