The USAID-funded Agro-Inputs Project in Bangladesh seeks a self-motivated individual, with project financial management and communication skills to join an ambitious project for a Dhaka based position, with frequent and extensive travel to the local AIP office at Khulna and Barisal. This is a local hire position for qualified individuals within Bangladesh. About CNFA CNFA is an enterprise development organization based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to stimulating sustainable growth in the agricultural sector. CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investments in training, new technologies and marketing as a means to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains, expand exports and develop skills in the rural workforce. By generating higher incomes for farmers, processors, entrepreneurs and distributors, CNFA helps improve livelihoods and reduce poverty. About AIP CNFA implements the five year, $14 Million USAID-funded Agro-Inputs Project (AIP) in Bangladesh. The Objective of AIP is to improve the supply of quality agro-inputs through retailers. From 2012-2017, CNFA will deliver training, improved inputs, and related services across 20 southern districts, to a network of 3,000 agro-input retailers (AIRN), serving over 1 million smallholders, impacting more than 5 million individuals, and generating more than $100 million in sales. Major Duties and Responsibilities With delegated supervision by the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM), the Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for project finance and administration related assignments. More specifically, the responsibilities of the Finance and Administration Officer include, but are not limited to:
Assist FAM to manage and supervise internal control and transparent procedures for administrative work, logistics, inventory, and project-wide finance.
Ensure employees time sheet prepared accordingly and reflect leave track record accordingly for payroll.
Assist FAM to maintain project-wide accounts, process bank transfers and bank reconciliation report, maintain petty cash inventory, bookkeeping and ledgers, and improve these as needed.
Prepare various accounting transactions, e.g., payroll, grants payments, vendor payments, advances, travel claims, etc. for review by the FAM and ensure correctness of disbursements and adherence to relevant staff rules, financial regulations, administrative instructions and practices;
Assisting FAM in the processing payments to suppliers/subcontractors and vendors for goods and services;
Maintain necessary documentation and reporting, including VAT, AIT/GoB and other and prepare monthly VAT report to USAID;
Assist FAM maintain records of all transaction to prepare of monthly financial reports for CNFA headquarter;
Work effectively with third-party financial reviewers to maintain and improve all procedures for administrative dealings, logistics, inventory, and finance as necessary;
Review petty cash transactions and replenish petty cash regularly for Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal offices; and,
Perform other duties as assigned by FAM or COP.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with CACC or MBA in finance;
Experience in donor funded projects, especially USAID funded project will get preference;
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team;
Strong computer literacy-MS Word, MS Excel;
Strong oral and written communication skills (English & Bangla).
