Job Description / Responsibility
- Core position
- As a country level Head of child rights and protection, the position holder is primarily responsible for developing the child rights and protection strategies and implementation guidelines to be used implementing programmes and projects; developing the child rights and protection portfolio at national level as well as linking this to regional and global initiatives. The position will lead the advocacy and networking for child rights and protection programme of Plan international Bangladesh to influence policy audience with an intention to mainstream evidence based intervention and to be a credible technical partner of government and others in child rights and protection areas. The position holder will directly supervise four to six National level Technical Advisors. Provides technical support and functional guidance to child Protection programme implementation specialists located at divisional offices and projects offices. Other major responsibilities of this position is to lead grants proposals development for the sector in line with the Plan International Bangladesh country strategy Plan (CSP-IV) and oversees grants projects that are implemented at national level and/or at different districts outside Plan’s programme areas. He/she will represent Plan in the national and international child protection forums, networks, donor communities, INGOs as well as different government and non-government committees.

Additional Job Requirements
- For this role, the applicant should have at least 10 years or more of progressive experience in an INGO/ National NGO/ UN/ Government in the similar field. PhD or advanced level educational qualifications in relevant field is preferred. Ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge on development theories and issues; In-depth knowledge and ability to serve as a development practitioner focusing on protection issues and condition and legal frame-work of Bangladesh and its implications; Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, monitoring and implementing; Good ICT skills and ability to implement new systems and cope with any new ideas that contribute staff behavioral/ attitudinal change and programme improvement is required. The job requires at least 40% travel to projects areas, meeting with donor agencies, government offices and partner organizations.
