Deputy Director – National Coordination, COVID-19 Response

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure alignment of Save the Children’s COVID-19 activities with the national response plan. This will be achieved through regular communication and coordination with the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Development Partners, donor agencies, professional associations, the private sector and other stakeholders. The Deputy Director will serve as the external face of the SC’s COVID-19 response and participate in regular planning, coordination and review meetings, and report on the progress of the project’s efforts. Under the guidance of the SC’s project lead, s/he will lead the development of detailed activity plans budget, identify qualified subject matter experts to develop training materials, supervision tools and other relevant clinical case management tools to support the program.
Qualifications and experience
A recognized Medical Degree’s Degree, preferably with a Master’s degree in Public Health/Social Science or relevant discipline.
At least 7 years of experience in working public health sector, preferably in communicable diseases control
Demonstrated expertise in coordination and technical support to MOHFW
Excellent understanding of MOHFW structures, systems and procedures
Able to document good practices and disseminate in appropriate forums
Good understanding of COVID-19 pandemic and the national response plan
Contract length: Contractual up to December 31, 2020
